Change to Adventist Retirement Plan (ARP)

Loma Linda University employees that are staff and on the Denominational pay scale are eligible for the Adventist Retirement Plan (ARP). LLU currently  contributes 5% of the employee’s gross income to ARP (employer basic). However, there has recently been a change to the amount LLU will match: LLU will now match 1.65% if the employee contributes 2.75%. We recommend that all employees who are ARP-eligible contribute at least 2.75% in order to receive the full match.

If you have questions about how your money is currently being invested, or, if you would like to change your investments, call ARP at 888-568-2542. Or to speak with a financial advisor, call Hank Spencer with AIG VALIC at 800-892-5558, ext. 88189. Please note that VALIC is the record keeper for ARP and is in charge of mailing quarterly statements and handling loans and withdrawals.

The ARP is only available to staff employees working a minimum of 40 hours per pay period and 20 years of age or older. Employees not eligible for ARP include temporary employees, non-benefited employees and less than part-time employees. Please note that faculty and research staff on the National Norm pay scale are not
eligible for ARP since they are eligible for TIAA-CREF/Fidelity instead.

To make a change in how much you are currently contributing to ARP, please contact your benefits analyst, based on the first letter of your last name:
