LLUC to host premiere of Dietrich Bonhoeffer film Jan. 21

Loma Linda University Church will present the North American premiere of "Come Before Winter," a film detailing the last days of German pastor and Nazi-resister Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The film lifts the curtain on cruel ironies of the last weeks of World War II in Europe and tells Bonhoeffer's story from the perspective of a British propaganda radio team. Along the way, it explore faith and ethics pushed to the limits.

Shot on location on the Baltic island of Rügen, Berlin, England, and various locations in Southern California--including a scene at the School of Public Health--the movie weaves together both dramatic scenes and interviews with leading Bonhoeffer scholars. One expert, Keith Clements from Bristol, UK, will be present following the screening for a Q&A session.

The screening will be held at 4:30 p.m., Sabbath, Jan. 21, at the Loma Linda University Church. Admission is free.
