CHDMM hosts ABC Invitational April 1

The Center for Health Disparities and Molecular Medicine (CHDMM) will hold its annual Apprenticeship Bridge to College (ABC) Invitational Monday, April 1, at 5 p.m. at the Wong Kerlee International Conference Center. The event is part of the selection process for the ABC program that provides selected applicants the opportunity to participate in hands-on scientific research addressing health care disparities.

The session will feature a keynote address from H. Roger Hadley, M.D., dean of the School of Medicine. Refreshments will be served.

The ABC program is one of four tracks of the Summer Health Disparities Research Programs: the ABC program for high school juniors and seniors; the Undergraduate Training Program for college students; the Medical Training Program for medical students; and the LLU-National Institutes of Health Initiative for Maximizing Student Development program for doctoral graduate students (Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D.). The goal of these programs is to help in the development of a diverse biomedical workforce to address the health needs of the Inland Empire and the nation.

The programs' unique combination of students provides a fertile environment for engaging in scientific interactions, peer mentoring, networking, and developing leadership skills as well as new friendships.

To RSVP and register for the invitational session, email David Erghelegiu at chdmm@llu.edu.
