Janice De-Whyte, PhD, a new full-time Loma Linda University School of Religion faculty member, will discuss some fo the odes to women found in the Book of Proverbs Sabbath, Feb. 28. Dr. De-Whyte's title is take from Chapter 31: "She Considers a Field and Buys It; She Opens Her Mouth With Wisdom."
Dr. De-Whyte completed her doctorate at McMaster University, writing a dissertation on the topic of infertility in the Old Testament and within Near-Eastern culture. Even before arriving for her first year of teaching at Loma Linda University, Dr. De-Whyte presented papers at international scholarly conferences. Dr. De-Whyte has served as an associate chaplain at Canadian University College and as a pastor.
