Sabbath school asks, 'Ellen White--Feminist?' March 15

Katherine Parsons, M.Phil., will explore 'Ellen White--Feminist?' Sabbath, March 15, in the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class.

An assistant professor of history at La Sierra University, Ms. Parsons will juxtapose Ellen White's words with those of pioneering feminists of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. In particular, Ms. Parsons will demonstrate Ellen White held radical ideas regarding women's roles in the home and in education.

Ms. Parsons earned an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge and is pursuing a doctorate in history at the University of California, Riverside.

This presentation is the latest in the series previewing "Ellen Harmon White: American Prophet," a book published by Oxford University Press to be released later this year.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Complex room 3111.
