The Center for Christian Bioethics continues its Bioethics Grand Rounds with two upcoming presentations.
The first features David Chooljian, M.D., J.D., a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician with the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System, speaking on "When There's 'Nothing More to Do': Futility and Its Role in Ethics Consultations."
Dr. Chooljian will explore the definition of medical futility, the relationship of institutional medical futility policies as they relate to California law and the role of medical futility in ethics consultations.
This Grand Rounds presentation will be held in the VA Loma Linda Hospital Amphitheater Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
The second Grand Rounds will be presented together with the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Titled "Top 10 Ethical Issues for Dentists," the presentation by Gerald Winslow, Ph.D., will address the ethical issues most requently encountered by dental health care providers in clinical settings.
Dr. Winslow is vice president for mission and culture at Loma Linda University Medical Center and former president of the American Society for Dental Ethics.
This dental Grand Rounds will be held in the School of Dentistry Prince Hall Auditorium Wednesday, Feb. 19, from noon to 1 p.m.
Continuing education credit is available for both presentations.
