How important is Adventist unity? asks Sabbath school Jan. 18

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School Class will explore "Adventist Church Unity: How Important is It--Really?" Sabbath, Jan. 18.

Most assign unity a very high value for Adventism. But are there even higher values that sometimes flourish when unity is overshadowed by differences, debate and heated conversation? Consider the early days of the Christian Church and the Seventh-day Adventist community.

Maury Jackson and John Johns, professors of religion at La Sierra University HMS Richards Divinity School, and Roy Branson, director of the Loma Linda University Center for Christian Bioethics, will continue the discussion on Current Currents in Adventist Thinking. Their remarks will springboard from papers presented at the recent November 2013 meetings of the Society of Adventist Philosophers and the Adventist Society for Religious Studies.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School meets Sabbaths from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m in Centennial Complex room 3111.
