Proposal submission open for Faculty Development Showcase

The Faculty Development Showcase Week is a biennial event sponsored by the Faculty Development in Education Committee under the auspices of the University Faculty Council. This event features a variety of activities that include plenary lectures, exhibits, poster sessions, computer, and classroom demonstrations and displays.

The theme for the 2014 Faculty Development Showcase Week is "Engaging Students" and will be held from Feb. 25 to Feb. 28, 2014.

Organizers are accepting proposals for 45-minute presentations, two-hour presentations or posters through Nov. 10. Plan to share what you are doing in your teaching at the showcase event by submitting a proposal at llu.edu/central/faculty-development/proposal.page.

Watch for announcements about events, speakers and opportunities. Previous events have featured presentations from Jeannette Norden of Vanderbilt University and Todd Zakrajsek of the Faculty Center for Innovative Teaching at Central Michigan University (2008); Maurice Hitchcock from USC and Terry Ray from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2006); and Sir John Daniel from the Open University (1998).
