Paul on pleasure and context of Galations subject of Sabbath School July 13

Roy Branson, Ph.D., will present "The End of Fun? Paul and Pleasure?" to the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class Sabbath, July 13.

Dr. Branson, director of the Center for Christian Bioethics, will explore the Greek and Roman cultural context for Paul's letter to the church in Galatia, particularly chapter 5. Was Paul less or more devoted to pleasure than were his contemporaries?

This is the second of seven Sabbaths exploring Paul Among the People. Looking at Paul's Greek and Roman culture helps us to better understand his views on such issues as women, the state, slavery and the nature of the church.

The Roy Branson and Friends Class meets Sabbaths from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Complex Room 3111.
