John Jones, Ph.D., will lead a discussion titled "The Sabbath and Healing in the Early Church" Sabbath, June 8, for the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class.
Dr. Jones, professor of religion at the La Sierra University H.M.S. Richards Divinity School, will explore how the words and actions of Jesus on Sabbath, as depicted in the gospels of Luke and John, reveal a Jesus who regarded healing as both personal and communal.
The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets Sabbaths from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Complex room 3111.
