Certification Instructions
Certification Instructions To certify:
  • Verify the committed percentage reasonably reflects the actual time and effort expended during the quarterly period. Committed effort represents the level of effort committed to the sponsor in the proposal for each sponsored project.
  • If it is not accurate, make the necessary changes by clicking and entering the actual level of effort performed.
  • If a change is made to one cost center, reallocate the percentage from other areas to reflect actual expenditure of time and effort.
  • Total percent of effort must equal 100% for each pay period.
  • Only consider the effort that you have expended for the benefit of Loma Linda University Health.
  • Once the information is accurate, please certify the PAR by checking the box next to the certification statement and click at the end of the form.
  • After the employee certifies, the PAR is reviewed and certified by the Principal Investigator (PI). The PI for each project listed on the PAR with effort must certify. If the employee is also the PI, no second certification is required.
  • All certifications are due within 30 days after quarter end.
To make changes after certification:
  • If changes are required to effort allocations after certification has occurred, please contact Robin E. Bailey (x44589) to restart the workflow process.
  • Once Robin Bailey has unlocked the PAR, the employee may make the necessary changes and re-certify. The PAR is then routed to the PI for re-certification.
