Government and Joint Commission policies require many healthcare-related job roles to have training for emergencies and disasters in accordance with standard processes called the Hospital Incident Command System — or HICS. Loma Linda University Health will offer this training six times in 2019.
HICS training is a four-hour course and certification is valid for life. The first training is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 24, from 1–5 p.m. Individuals who may be required to take this training include:
• Administrators, directors, managers
• Employees who respond to the Command Center
• Employees who could be involved in disaster response
The other training dates for 2019 are:
• March 14, 1–5 p.m.
• May 16, 1–5 p.m.
• July 24, 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
• Sept. 19, 1–5 p.m.
• Nov. 13, 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
