Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP)

Breakthrough Award Level 1 & 2-Supports research that has high potential to lead to or make breakthroughs in breast cancer.

  • Level 1-Single PI:$ 540,000 for the entire period of performance, plus IDC. With Partnering PI $900,000, plus IDC.3-year Performance Period.

Era of Hope Scholar Award- Support individuals who are early in their careers with significant potential to effect meaningful change in breast cancer.

 

Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP)

Investigator-Initiated Research Award- To support high-impact research that addresses a critical need and has the potential to make an important contribution to ovarian cancer or patient/survivor care.

Ovarian Cancer Academy-Early-Career Investigator Award- Supports next-generation Early-Career Investigators in clinical trials research to produce effective treatments and cures for ovarian cancer.

  • Total Cost not to exceed $1.4M.
  • 4-Year Performance Period

Pilot Award- Supports research that expands or modifies current thinking about and/or approaches in ovarian cancer, exploring innovative concepts or theories in ovarian cancer that could lead to major advancements.

 

Alzheimer’s Research Program (AZRP)

Transforming Care Award- Supports clinical research or clinical trials that provide interventions, innovations, and solutions in critical areas for dementia care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Application Deadline: August 29, 2025
  • Total costs not to exceed $1.6M (Single PI). With Partnering PI, not to exceed $1.9M.
  • 4-Year Performance Period

Transforming Diagnosis Award- Supports solutions-oriented research seeking to improve diagnosis and prognosis of Alzheimer’s disease and/or Alzheimer’s disease-related dementia.

  • Total costs not to exceed $1.5M (Single PI). With a partnering PI, not to exceed $1.7M.

Transforming Research Award- Supports non-incremental research designed to reduce the risk of or prevent the development of Alzheimer’s disease and/or Alzheimer’s disease-related dementia.

 

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Program (ALSRP)

Pilot Clinical Trial- Supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to have a significant impact on the treatment or management of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

  • Application Deadline: August 27, 2025
  • Direct Costs for the entire performance period not to exceed $2M.
  • 3-Year Performance Period

Clinical Outcomes and Biomarkers Award- Supports the development and/or validation of clinical outcomes and biomarkers to enrich clinical trials in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

  • Direct Costs for the entire performance period not to exceed $750,000

Therapeutic Development Award- Supports research ranging from preclinical validation of therapeutic leads through the FDA investigational new drug-enabling studies.

PAR-25-283- Innovative Mental Health Services Research Not Involving Clinical Trials (R01 Clinical Trials Not Allowed)

  • The mission of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is to transform the understanding and treatment of mental illnesses through basic and clinical research, paving the way for prevention, recovery, and cure.

Cal Violence Intervention and Prevention (CalVIP) Grant

The CalVIP Grant is available to community-based organizations, city and county agencies, and tribal governments who are working on initiatives to provide violence intervention services to communities disproportionately impacted by gun violence. BSCC plans to award approximately $103 million in funding for this grant cycle.

  • Grant period: January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2028
  • Application deadline: August 18, 2025

Pfizer Global Medical Grants

Optimizing ER+ Metastatic Breast Cancer Treatment: incorporating emerging treatment options and biomarker testing

 

American Cancer Society

Discovery Boost Grant- Support high-risk, high-reward exploratory cancer research across the research continuum. Investigators may focus on developing research methodologies, establishing feasibility, or leading pilot tests.

 

Research Scholar Grant -Provide support for independent, self-directed researchers. Applicants' institutions must provide space and other resources customary for independent investigators.

Postdoctoral Fellowship Grant- Support new investigators in research training programs to position them for independent careers in cancer research. As part of their evaluation, peer reviewers consider how well the fellowship will broaden the applicant’s research training and experience.

  • Application deadline: June 1, 2025 & December 2025.
  • 3-Year Project Period
  • Progressive stipends of $66,000, $68,000, and $70,000 a year. Fellows will receive $4,000 a year to help defray costs such as health insurance, workshop costs, and expenses associated with presenting at a domestic scientific meeting. In the last year, an additional $1,500 is added to the fellowship allowance for PFs to attend either the ACS Postdoctoral Fellows Symposium or a domestic scientific meeting.
