Department of Defense Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research Program -

“The FY18 Defense Appropriations provides $3.2 million (M) to the Department of Defense Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research Program (DMDRP) to support innovative, high-impact Duchenne muscular dystrophy research. “ Areas of interest: Bone, cardiac, central nervous system (CNS), and/or gastrointestinal tract studies, including identifying mechanisms of pathology and therapeutic interventions, translational and clinical studies, novel interventions, and drug and biologic delivery technologies and assessment of clinical trial tools and outcome measures. Brain Research Foundation, 2019 Scientific Innovations Award: LOI due June 22

“This funding mechanism is designed to support creative, exploratory, cutting edge research in well-established research laboratories, under the direction of established investigators. To be eligible, the nominee must be a full-time associate professor/full professor working in the area of neuroscience and brain function in health and disease. Current major NIH or other peer-reviewed funding is preferred but evidence of such funding in the past three years is essential. The grant period is for two years totaling $150,000. The support focus is for new research projects of the highest scientific merit.”
