New monthly seminar series to be hosted by Research Affairs

Research Affairs is pleased to announce a new service for our research community: a monthly seminars on research topics. The presentations will be given on the second Tuesday of each month in the Research Affairs Conference Room (24887 Taylor Street, Suite 202) from 12-1 pm. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP to Lorraine Sarmiento (lsarmiento@llu.edu) by the preceding Monday afternoon.

Albin Grohar, PhD, executive director of advancement will present “To pursue foundations for research support, or not: that is the question” at the inaugural meeting on December 11, 2012. Areas that Dr. Grohar will cover during his presentation include grant dollar amounts, research areas, deadlines, application instructions, number of grants awarded, and research support from private sector foundations.

The second seminar in the series titled “Faculty Inventions and Patents” will be presented by Carol Grande, director of Research Affairs Technology Transfer, on January 8, 2013.
