2013 La Jolla Immunology Conference

The 2013 La Jolla Immunology Conference will be held October 8-10 at the de Hoffman Auditorium at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. The program will feature talks from senior-level investigators, post-docs, and graduate students, and will include early evening poster sessions. The Keynote Speaker, a true leader in the field of Immunology, is Prof. Marc Jenkins, Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. Other sessions, each chaired by leaders in their field, will address the following areas:

  • Immunity and the microbiome (Chair: Charles Surh, Academy of Immunology and Microbiology, Institute for Basic Science)
  • Immunometabolism (Chair: Steven Bensinger, UCLA)
  • Immune-mediated diseases: Atherosclerosis (Chair: Klaus Ley, LIAI)
  • New Emerging Players in the Immune Response (Chair: Hilde Cheroutre)
  • Signals and their Integration (Chair: Bjoern Lillemeier, Salk Institute for Biological Research)
  • Autoimmunity/Human Immunology (Chair: Gary Firestein, UCSD)
  • Transcriptional control of lineage and function (Chair: Ananda Goldrath, UCSD)
  • Programming B cell immunity (Chair: Michael McHeyzer-Williams)

 

All post-docs and graduate students are encouraged to submit abstracts for either oral presentations, poster-presentations, or both. We will have 5 awards of $200 each for the best oral presentations and 5 awards of $200 each for the best poster presentations.

Registration includes breakfasts on the 10th and 11th, lunches on all 3 meeting days, and light supper at the poster sessions. The conference will conclude with an Awards Gala held at the Birch Aquarium overlooking La Jolla Shores. Two distinct types of registration are possible. The first will cost $100 and cover the conference plus all meals served at the de Hoffman. The second type of registration will cost $125 and will cover the conference plus a ticket to the Awards Gala held at the Birch Aquarium on Oct. 11th.
