Research Affairs is proud to announce the Animal Care and Use Program has received renewed full accreditation from AAALAC International for the maximum term of three years, following a successful site visit which took place in October 2024. This accreditation reflects the university’s unwavering commitment to maintain the highest standards of animal welfare and care in research, teaching, and testing. AAALAC accreditation signifies global recognition of excellence in animal care programs and underscores Loma Linda University’s dedication to ethical and scientifically rigorous animal research practices. Loma Linda University was one of the first universities in the country to join AAALAC, and has maintained continuous accreditation since 1966. Research Affairs appreciates the many contributions from the animal care staff and our researchers in maintaining the tradition of excellence. Special thanks to Dr. Rutebuka, Dr. Popp and Dr. Blood for their leadership.
