Cindy Dickson, Executive Director - Research Innovation & Industrial Relations
Cindy Dickson has been with Loma Linda University Health since 1993, accumulating over 31 years of dedicated service. Beginning as a Medical Assistant and later Clinic Supervisor in the Neurosurgery outpatient clinic (1993–1998). She later transitioned to the LLU Neurosurgery Center for Research Training and Education (1998–2011), serving as a Research Administrator under Dr. Wolff M. Kirsch. During this time, Cindy co-invented products that led to the co-founding of KOAG Medical and managed an Alzheimer’s research project funded with $6 million from the NIH. Additionally, she has contributed to 11 publications, including peer-reviewed articles in fields such as Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive impairment, and research methodologies.
Since 2012, Cindy has been part of Research Affairs, serving as Director and Authorized Organization Representative for Pre-Award Services. Under her leadership, institutional grant goals in submissions, requested amounts, and awards have been consistently exceeded. Academically, Cindy earned an MBA in Global Business from the University of Redlands in 2014 and achieved the Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA) credential in March 2024, becoming one of only 150 in the nation and the sole CPRA at LLUH.
Stacey Moya, Executive Director – Sponsored Project Administration
Stacey earned her MBA in Finance from La Sierra University and began her LLUH career at the School of Dentistry in 2001. She transitioned to Grants Management in 2002 as a Senior Accountant and has held various roles since then. In her current position, Stacey oversees approximately 600 awards annually, averaging $35 million awarded and $27 million in expenses each fiscal year. Post Award is responsible for handling the financial management and compliance of grants and contracts after award receipt. This includes monitoring budgets, ensuring expenses align with award terms, preparing financial reports, and managing the closeout process.
