The Office of the Vice President for Research Affairs proudly announces a NEW INTERNAL FUNDING OPPORTUNITY

STRATEGIC, INNOVATIVE AND MEANINGFUL SCIENCE (SIMS) Award

Thanks to a generous gift by Charles and Nancy Sims to the LLU Institute for Genetics and Translational Genomics, we are able, for the first time, to offer a new type of Internal award. This inter-institutional grant opportunity, also known as the Strategic, Innovative and Meaningful Science (SIMS) award, is designed to catalyze collaborations between LLU faculty and faculty at other, research-intensive universities. The general outlines are similar to those of GRASP awards, with a total of $100,000 available to be spent over two years; this award will be administered and managed by Research Affairs. All types of research within the mission of Loma Linda University will be considered.

Goal: To fund pilot studies of high impact, cutting edge research that will allow a continuum of relational growth between institutions and investigators, which will lead to collaborative external grant funding

Eligibility: Any Loma Linda University faculty and faculty from externally designated R1 Institutions
