Loma Linda University Receives Hispanic-Serving Institution Designation

Earlier this month, Loma Linda University was designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI).  An HSI is defined by federal law as an accredited, degree-granting, public or private nonprofit institution of higher education with 25% or more total undergraduate Hispanic full-time equivalent (FTE) student enrollment.

With this designation, LLU is deemed eligible for Titles III, V, and VII grant programs of the Higher Education Act.  Through these programs, the US Department of Education provides grant funding to institutions of higher education to assist with strengthening institutional programs, facilities, and services to expand the educational opportunities for Hispanic Americans and other underrepresented populations.

If you are interested in applying for grant opportunities under these programs or for more information, please contact Research Affairs at researchaffairs@llu.edu
