Preparation for Potential Closures

As the numbers of Californians that test positive for COVID-19 increases, along with the number of hospitalization and deaths, it is becoming increasingly likely that Governor Newsom will issue a state-wide stay-at-home order.  If this order is issued, we will once again be forced to cease all research activities for which the benefit of the research is not outweighed by the risk of suffering from COVID-19.  As such, we ask that you start preparing for such eventuality.  If you are ordering animals, please keep in mind that you may not be able to engage in research for several months and that incurring per diem fees during this period can be costly.  Of course, such stay-at-home order will not preclude any activities from home such as statistical analysis, review of literature, drafting articles, or preparing new grant applications.
