Loma Linda Medical Center East Campus receives 2014 Path to Excellence Award!

National Research recognized top performing organizations at the 20th NRC Picker Patient-Centered Care Symposium September 7 – 9 in San Diego, California. Path to Excellence award recipients were selected from the National Research extensive database of clients within ten categories. Loma Linda University Medical Center East Campus was awarded 'Most Improved Facility' for hospitals 100 to less than 300 beds. For the last 12 months LLUMCEC has been rated by patients as in the top 75th percentile rank. This marks the first time East Campus Hospital has been recognized with such a distinction.

"I was very surprised when we were notified that East Campus had won this award.  We didn’t even know there was an award and it wasn’t our goal to win one.   The award reflects the tremendous emphasis and effort we’ve applied to developing an excellent patient experience at East Campus.  Our team has worked diligently to implement  best practices in support of our focus on providing compassionate, patient-centered care.  Those efforts have resulted in the improved patient engagement scores that allowed us to be recognized by NRC-Picker.  We’re humbled and grateful to be acknowledged in this way by NRC and hope to use the award to inspire other on-going efforts on our campuses to achieve high-level results for patient engagement." Lyndon Edwards, Vice President & Administrator
