Interprofessional Education Between Occupational Therapy and Dental Hygiene at Loma Linda University

Today, the second year occupational therapy students met with the first year dental hygiene students to review ergonomic evaluation recommendations in an effort to prevent injuries by striving for optimal posturing, arranging the work environmnet, and incorporating a stretching routine. In turn, the dental hygiene students taught the occupational therapy students more about oral hygiene health and supplied toothbrushes, mouthwash, and floss. The collaborative approach fostered new friendships and demonstrated the value of interprofessional education provided by Loma Linda University.
