Of the Minor Prophets, the book of Zechariah is the longest and the one quoted most often in the New Testament. From the Gospels through to the Book of Revelation, the Christian church remembered striking images in Zechariah.
Dr. Roy Branson, drawing on both literary analysis and religious ethics, will explore "Zechariah: A City Without Walls and the Glory of the Lord Within" Sabbath, April 20.
Dr. Branson, director of the Center for Christian Bioethics and associate dean of the School of Religion, will plunge into the wild world of a poet and preacher active in sixth-century B.C. Jerusalem--a Jerusalem live with exiles from Babylon working on rebuilding their culture by restoring their ancient temple.
The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sabbaths in Centennial Complex room 3111.
