LLU Chivalry Week challenges men, honors women

Is chivalry really dead, as skeptics claim? Are we longing for something lost that cannot be revived? Can it exist in a world with a mentality of "what's in it for me?" During Chivalry Week, the Campus Chaplains--in collaboration with Student Activities--are debunking the notion that chivalry is dead.

During this week of chivalry, the men of LLU are called to do acts of gallantry to demonstrate how treasured and honored are the women in their lives--fellow students, co-workers, friends--women with whom God has blessed them.

Here are suggested activities for next week:

  • Monday—Perform a chivalrous act for someone.
  • Tuesday—Photograph chivalry in action and tweet it to @lluchaplains or email campusministries@llu.edu so we can share them throughout the week during our Spring Week of Renewal.
  • Wednesday—Ladies-first Lunch on the Lawn: The gentlemen will not only allow the ladies to go first, but will also serve them!
  • Thursday—Hugs & Cards: Chocolate hugs and cards will be provided for gentlemen to share with ladies they feel could use a blessing and a boost.
  • Friday—Say It With Flowers: Daisies will be provided for gentlemen to share with ladies that have made a difference in their lives.

Chivalry Week is part of the Campus Chaplains' commitment to equip the men of Loma Linda University to lead lives of service to Christ in their homes, churches, careers and communities.
