Sabbath School examines lessons for modern Adventism from Augustine

David Larson, Ph.D., will examine Augustine's views on wealth and Christian philanthropy with "Scattering Coins to Redeem Sins" Sabbath, Feb. 9.

Augustine, one of the greatest theologians in the history of Christianity, reflected not only the gospel, but the economic, social and political realities of both the Christian church and the Roman Empire during the late 4th and 5th centuries. Dr. Larson, professor of religion at Loma Linda University, will touch on how Augustine's thinking is--and is not--relevant to Adventism today.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School Class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sabbaths in Centennial Complex room 3111.
