MIG-DMA vespers features Thailand missionary doctor

The Deferred Mission Appointees (DMA) and the Mission Interest Group (MIG) vespers will feature Dr. Nick Walters, a missionary doctor from Thailand, Friday, Jan. 4, 2013.

Dr. Walters graduated in 1992 from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and he has served for 20 years in different medical mission fields, including Singapore, Guam, Ethiopia and Thailand.

To qualify to practice in Thailand, Dr. Walters passed the Thailand Medical Boards in the Thai language, making him the only expatriate physician on the staff of Bangkok Adventist Hospital.

His wife, Phosfe, is a nurse by profession, but prefers to help Dr. Walters by supporting many of his patients. The Walters' two sons, Christopher and Ian, are students at Pacific Union College in Angwin, Calif., where they are studying biology and plan to serve as missionaries when they finish school.

Dr. Walters will share the secret of his long-term commitment to the Lord in mission service at 5 p.m. in the Drayson Center Collins Auditorium.

Light refreshments will be served.

For more information, call Jeffrey Cho at 925-785-2793; or call Dr. Bill McGhee or Jocelyn Sonsona at 909-558-4563.
