Elisa Brown, M.B.A., will present “The Management Side of Missions” at a joint DMA-MIG vespers to those interested in overseas service Friday, Nov. 16, at 5 p.m.
Currently director of the M.B.A. program in health care administration and assistant professor in Loma Linda University’s School of Public Health, Ms. Brown has volunteered with Adventist Health International (AHI) at Malamulo Adventist Hospital in rural Malawi, Africa, as director of finance and acting CEO for three years. In addition, Ms. Brown is also a member of the Administrative Committee for AHI.
Her experience in the United States includes five years as a financial analyst for Adventist Health System’s corporate office and one and half years as assistant CFO for Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital in Bolingbrook, Ill.
Ms. Brown earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Southern Adventist University in 2000, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Florida in 2007, and she is working toward a doctorate in missiology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. Her passion is service and incorporating her experience in business in a cross-cultural setting in mission hospitals.
The vespers service, co-sponsored by the Deferred Mission Appointee (DMA) program and the Mission Interest Group (MIG), will be held in the Drayson Center's Gair Room. Light refreshments will be served.
