Physician reenacts ethics case history in drama and poetry

The Center for Christian Bioethics presents a unique Bioethics Grand Rounds titled "Half A Miracle: A Case History As Drama," featuring Brenda Butka, M.D.

Dr. Butka, director of pulmonary medicine at Vanderbilt University, is a physician by day and artist by night who takes striking moments in her practice as a physician and captures them in poetry. Dr. Butka celebrates the heroic in the ordinary, and the ordinary in the heroic.

Experience her work as Dr. Butka performs a dramatized reenactment and poetry reading of a real-life ethics case.

The Bioethics Grand Rounds will be held in the Loma Linda University Medical Center faculty lounge on the third floor of Chan Shun Pavilion from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit is available.
