Wholeness series examines new perspective on technology, Christianity

H. Craig Hadley, M.Div., will present a workshop titled "Pause: When Technology Ceases to Interrupt," part of the Wil Alexander Wholeness Series, Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Mr. Hadley is fascinated by the intersection where Christians--with 2,000 years of tradition--meet technology--which is changing every day.

One of his life goals is to fight the "routine" of church and embrace new ways of experiencing and encountering God. He was recently interviewed by the New York Times about a new initiative where he takes church prayer requests by text message.

Mr. Hadley's presentation will talk about accepting and living in a technological world without losing sight of what is important.

His workshop will cover the following objectives:

  • understand what recent technology encourages us to do;
  • understand what recent technology discourages us from doing; and
  • know what the writers of the Bible felt and learned when they were faced with technological advances.

This Wil Alexander Wholeness Series workshop will be held in the Centennial Complex Damazo Amphitheater from 5 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.

Email meals@llu.edu to reserve a light meal following the workshop.
