The Center for Christian Bioethics will host two screenings of award-winning film "A Separation" as part of its Ethics in Great Films series.
"A Separation," winner of both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, is set in contemporary Iran and tells the story of a grandfather with Alzheimer's disease and a daughter-in-law who wants to flee the country with her daughter. The film shows the separations within an Iranian middle-class family--parents and children, husband and wife, employers and employees, soft and hard Islamists--all of them affected by the fierce loyalty of a son to his father who suffers from increasing dementia.
The screenings will be on Wednesday, Oct. 31, and Thursday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m. in Centennial Complex room 3113.
