Sabbath school to discuss the meaning of suffering Oct. 25

Richard Rice, Ph.D., will share insights from his newest book, "Suffering and the Search for Meaning," published by Intervarsity Press only five months ago, with the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class Sabbath, Oct. 25.

Dr. Rice will draw from moving experiences of suffering he has encountered and discussed during decades of LLU medical school classes. No topic faced by health professionals creates more complex spiritual questions.

In addition to serving as professor of religion at Loma Linda University, Dr. Rice has published many books, including what is now a theological classic, "The Openness of God," a book that launched a distinct strain of contemporary theology continuing to be discussed in countless seminars and scholarly conferences.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets Sabbaths from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Complex room 3111.
