Religion dean re-visions the fundamental beliefs for Sabbath School Sep. 20

Jon Paulien, Ph.D., dean of the Loma Linda University School of Religion, will discuss "Re-visioning Adventism's 28 Fundamental Beliefs" with the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class Sabbath, Sep. 20.

Dr. Paulien will continue class' ongoing series, Compelling Moral Visions, exploring if some of the 28 are more central than others, and if different parts of Adventism approach the Statement of Fundamental Beliefs differently.

Before assuming his present position, Dr. Paulien chaired the department of New Testament studies at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, where he supervised many doctoral dissertations; authored books on the Bible and Adventist thought, as well many scholarly articles, chapters in books, and scholarly commentaries on the New Testament. Dr. Paulien, who belongs to standing committees of the Biblical Research Institute of the General Conference, regularly lectures in church and academic conferences throughout the globe. Several of his books have been translated from English into diverse languages.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School meets Sabbaths from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Complex room 3111.
