Allied Health homecoming features hands-on cooking class with chef

Chef Cory Gheen

Roll up your sleeves for a hands-on cooking class with Chef Cory Gheen during the Loma Linda University School of Allied Health Professions 18th annual Alumni Homecoming Weekend Friday, May 2.

The class will include a meal, a recipe from Chef Gheen and more.

Chef Gheen studied at the Culinary Institute of America in New York before starting a career in the Napa Valley and Central California. While working as a chef and manager of restaurants and food retail establishments, he developed wide-ranging experience in the world of food and the culinary arts, focusing on vegetarian cuisine.

As a teacher, Chef Gheen works with students to spark their interest and to develop the skills necessary in the world of nutrition and food service. Continuing his own education, Chef Gheen recently completed a master's degree in nutrition and plans to sit the dietitian registration exam. Look for Chef Gheen in the upcoming TV show "Food Works," produced by LLU.

Although this class is part of the School of Allied Health Professions Alumni Homecoming Weekend, the event is open to everyone.

Advance registration is required; Allied Health alumni and clinical instructors are $40, all others are $45. To register, visit alliedhealth.llu.edu/homecoming and click the "register now" button.
