Visiting scholar begins 'Real Adventist' series for Sabbath school April 5

Reinder Bruinsma, Ph.D., visiting scholar to the School of Religion during Spring Quarter, will lead a month-long series for the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class: Will the Real Adventist Please Stand Up. This first Sabbath of the series, April 5, Dr. Bruinsma will reflect on the significance of identity--personal and corporate--as he explores "What are the Dynamics of Adventist Identity?"

Dr. Bruinsma earned his doctorate from the University of London in the field of religious history and for years taught at both Andrews University and Newbold College. He has written more than 25 books, including his favorite, "It's Time to Stop Rehearsing What We Believe and Start Looking at What Difference it Makes," published by Pacific Press. He has also edited and co-edited many volumes, including "Exploring the Frontiers of Faith: Festschrift in Honor of Dr. Jan Paulsen," the immediate past president of the General Conference.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets Sabbaths from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Complex room 3111.
