Wholeness workshop explains use of tablets in health care April 9

Heather Thomas, Ph.D., OTR/L, will present "Use of the iPad in Health Professions" Wednesday, April 9, part of the Wil Alexander Wholeness Series of workshops.

Dr. Thomas will demonstrate how an iPad, iPhone or Android device can be used as tools when treating patients and completing everyday work tasks in the clinic. Attendees are encouraged to bring their tablets or mobile devices for hands-on participation.

Workshop objectives include

  • exploring the use of mobile devices in managing health care tasks;
  • learning how to adapt the iPad for clients with physical and sensory limitations; and
  • understanding applications to increase physical and cognitive abilities of clients and manage/monitor client home programs.

Dr. Thomas' workshop will be held in the Centennial Complex Damazo Amphitheater from 5 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.
