Panel of young adults discuss Adventism's future Feb. 15

The Loma Linda University School of Religion, the School of Religion Humanities Program and the Adventist Today Foundation present "Will the Next Generation of Young Adults Remain Adventist?" Sabbath, Feb. 15.

Monte Sahlin will moderate a panel and interview Ryan Bell, followed by a response from Jon Paulien, dean of the School of Religion.

Panelists will include:

  • Alfredo Lee, born into an Adventist family, who played piano every Sabbath through high school and who now works for a child advocacy organization;
  • Keisha McKenzie, Ph.D., a researcher for nonprofits who attends both Adventist and Quaker churches;
  • Edgar N. Momplaisir, a senior at Pacific Union College who has attended Adventist schools for most of his life;
  • Courtney Ray, an associate pastor at the Tamarind Avenue SDA Church in Compton, who has served Adventist churches in Baltimore and Handford, Calif.; and
  • Syd Shook, a graduate student at Fuller Theological Seminary, who joined the Adventist Church in 2010 and has served as an elder at the Hollywood SDA Church.

The program will be held in the Centennial Complex Damazo Amphitheater at 3 p.m.
