David Larson, Ph.D., will present "Unity Thorugh Diversity: The North American Division Report on Ordination of Women" Sabbath, Jan. 4, for the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class and is the first in a four-week series devoted to Current Currents in Adventist Thinking.

This month, the world Seventh-day Adventist Church will receive reports from commissions in each of the church's divisions making recommendations concerning the ordination of women. In the fall, the General Conference will decide whether to discuss this issue at the upcoming General Conference Session.

Dr. Larson will focus on the North American Division report's introduction, the report itself and the recommendations laid out in the report. (The NAD report can be read online at nadordination.com.)

Dr. Larson is a professor of religion at Loma Linda University and director of a new master's program in Religion and Society.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sabbaths in Centennial Complex room 3111.
