Reports from theological conferences subject of Sabbath School Dec. 14

Religion professors from Loma Linda University and La Sierra University will share recent experiences attending four annual gatherings of theologians for the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class Sabbath, Dec. 14. "Dispatches from the Front: Passion at Recent Theology Conferences" will report on the meetings of two Adventist societies, as well as the 10,000 strong concurrent meetings of the American Academy of Religion (AAR) and the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL).

Dr. Roy Branson, director of the Center for Christian Bioethics, will be joined by professors Maury Jackson and John Jones who will share spirited views expressed in the Adventist meetings concerning such topics as the ordination of women. They will also recount deeply felt appreciations articulated in the AAR/SBL sessions for some of the greatest theological voices of our time, including Robert Bellah, Walter Brueggemman, John de Gruchy, and Reinhold Niebuhr.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sabbath mornings in Centennial Complex room 3111.
