Ivan Blazen, Ph.D., will present "1 John: When God Takes the Witness Stand" Sabbath, Nov. 9. Dr. Blazen's presentation continues the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class series, Minor Prophets of the New Testament, an ongoing study of the smaller books toward the end of the New Testament.
I John is a letter that probably includes a homily preached in churches of Asia Minor.
Dr. Blazen, professor of religion at the Loma Linda University School of Religion, studied in Germany and earned his doctorate in New Testament from Princeton University. He has taught at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University, Pacific Union College and at Loma Linda University; and preached often at camp meetings across the denomination.
