'Breaking the Silence' event remembers victims of domestic violence Oct. 24

To commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Loma Linda University and Option House, Inc., will host "Breaking the Silence," a candlelight vigil for victims of domestic violence Thursday, Oct. 24.

"Breaking the Silence" is an opportunity for the community to come together to remember victims of domestic violence: to stand for those who have lost their lives; to stand for those who can't speak for fear of retribution or shame; to stand for the children who have been and are exposed to domestic violence.

The event will have speakers, music and--most importantly--community. Attend to remember and raise awareness.

"Breaking the Silence" will be held at the "Who Touched Me?" statue outside the Centennial Complex at 5:30 p.m.

For more information, call Heather Javaherian-Dysinger at 909-558-4628 or email her at hjavaherian@llu.edu; or call Melissa Brooks at Option House at 909-383-1602.
