Sabbath school examines 2 Peter, today's 'great disappointment' Oct. 26

Dr. David Larson will present "2 Peter: Coping with Today's 'Great Disappointment'" Oct. 26. Dr. Larson considers Second Peter's discussion of how to cope with the delay of the Second Coming of Christ as one of the most profound in the New Testament. This presentation continues the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class's series on the Minor Prophets of the New Testament--small books placed at the end of the Bible, just before the book of Revelation.

Dr. Larson, a professor of religion at Loma Linda University and regarded as one of Adventism's clearest and most forthright thinkers, has written extensively, including articles in Spectrum magazine, and chapters in books on ethics and on the history of the Adventist community. In addition, Dr. Larson was one of the founders of the Center for Christian Bioethics, which he headed for some 19 years.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sabbaths in Centennial Complex room 3111.
