Professor Rob McIver, Ph.D., will teach the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class Sabbath, Oct. 19, discussing "I Peter: Living in the Light of Life's Challenges." Professor MacIver's presentation continues the class's study of the Minor Prophets of the New Testament, the short books found just before Revelation.
I Peter addresses the family and public lives of Christians in early congregations throughout the Jewish Dispersion within the Roman Empire. Professor McIver, a New Testament scholar visiting the Loma Linda University School of Religion this quarter from Avondale College in Australia, has published scholarly articles in some of the world's most distinguished journals of New Testament studies.
The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. every Sabbath morning in Centennial Complex room 3111.
