New Sabbath School series explores New Testament minor prophets Oct. 12

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class begins a new six week series Sabbath, Oct. 12: The Minor Prophets of the New Testament.

The series kicks off with "James: The Brother of Jesus Addresses Christian Jews Throughout the Empire," presented by Roy Branson, who will explore the church in Jerusalem headed by James, Jesus' brother. These Jerusalem Christians, described in Acts chapters 15 and 21, represent an often overlooked stream of Christian Judaism.

In coming weeks, the class will study the five short--or "minor"--books of the Bible that precede Revelation, including 1 and 2 Peter; 1, 2 and 3 John; and Jude.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Complex room 3111.
