Attorney will explore 'Paul and the State' July 27

Donna Carlson, M.D., J.D, will lead a discussion Sabbath, July 27, titled "Just Following Orders? Paul and the State."

Dr. Carlson, a pediatrician trained at Loma Linda University, received her law degree, with honors, from the University of Southern California, and for many years has taught courses at LLU in religion and medicine and the law and medicine. She is a staff attorney with the Fourth District California Courts of Appeal.

Dr. Carlson’s presentation continues the series Paul Among the People and will compare Paul’s thinking about the relation of the church to the thinking of others in the Greco-Roman world, as well as compare Paul’s thinking about church and state to that of the Seventh-day Adventist Church today.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School Class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Complex room 3111.
