Sabbath school to discuss homosexuality in the time of Paul

David Larson, PhD, professor of religion and longtime director of the Center for Christian Bioethics at Loma Linda University, will lead a discussion on Paul and homosexuality this Sabbath, July 20, in the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School Class.

This is part of an ongoing series, Paul Among the People, the title of a well-received book by Sarah Ruden. Citing much Greek and Roman ancient literature, Ruden contends that homosexual relationships of Paul’s time were not permanent, exclusive, and mutually loving. Does this imply that if Paul were alive today he would support same-sex marriage? Does it suggest that we should?

The Roy Branson and Friends class meets 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in room 3111 of the Centennial Complex.
