The pink event offers mentoring, support to female students May 16

As an institution that prepares men and women to become health professionals, Loma Linda University recognizes the need to foster an environment that encourages and develops successful female leaders. Research has shown that mentoring is particularly important for women and minority groups who typically have less access to mentors and mentoring.

Accordingly, the Campus Chaplains present the pink event, the first round-robin conversation in which accomplished female health care professionals share their experiences with their less experienced counterparts, Thursday, May 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Similar to speed dating, small groups of mentees rotate among mentors, allowing a large group to network while retaining the intimacy of individual mentorship. It's mentoring in a minute.

The pink event is designed to allow students to gain tips that can help prepare them for the challenges of professional life, family and parenthood, interpersonal skills and maintaining balance.

Register by emailing campusministries@llu.edu or on Facebook at facebook.com/llupinkevent.

This event continues the Campus Chaplains' dedication to providing a variety of mentoring experiences for Loma Linda University students to facilitate their success as they serve others.
