Creation and 'The Openness of God' subject of Sabbath School May 11

Richard Rice, Ph.D, will discuss "Creatio Ex Nihilo: It's Not All About Nothing" Sabbath, May 11, in the Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class.

Dr. Rice, professor of religion at Loma Linda University, has written several books. His best known book, "The Openness of God," launched a school of theology within Protestantism, the only Seventh-day Adventist theologian to have done so.

Dr. Rice will be bringing "The Openness of God" perspective to a discussion of a doctrine that continues to receive a great deal of attention within the Seventh-day Adventist church. A thoroughgoing debate has been scheduled for the next General Conference session to decide whether to adopt a new statement about Creation in the church's Fundamental Beliefs.

The Roy Branson and Friends Sabbath School class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Complex room 3111.
