The 2016 Annual Postgraduate Convention (APC) for the School of Medicine will take place March 4 to 7 in the Centennial Complex at Loma Linda University, and the Scientific Poster Session will be held Sunday, March 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
All are welcome to attend the Scientific Poster Session to learn about exciting new research performed at Loma Linda University Health.
The abstract submission deadline for the Scientific Poster Session has been extended to Feb.15. Abstracts submitted after the deadline will not be considered for acceptance.
Scientific abstracts may be submitted by several groups, including: resident/fellow basic science; resident/fellow clinical; medical student basic science; medical student clinical; other basic science; other clinical; faculty basic science; faculty clinical; and case report. No monetary awards will be given in the faculty categories.
For clarification, studies involving animals, test tubes, and bench-top studies are considered basic science, while research utilizing patients is considered clinical.
Abstracts should be no more than 350 words in length and should contain the following sections:
Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. Each abstract must be submitted with a faculty sponsor and a completed abstract submission form. Both the presenting applicant and the sponsoring faculty email addresses and phone numbers are required.
Abstract winners will be asked to make a special presentation during an APC session. The remaining poster awards will be distributed Monday, March 7, at noon in the Centennial Complex.
