6088:21031 <![CDATA[Items of Interest]]> Sequestration: The Federal government will continue to operate under a continuing resolution for the rest of FY 2013. In addition, the sequestration cuts have started to take effect. What does that mean to our research community? Most non-competing continuations will be funded at reduced levels and new awards may be delayed or not funded at all. For example at NIH all non-competing continuation awards are currently being funded at a level below that indicated on the most recent Notice of Award (generally up to 90% of the previously committed level). Now that sequestration has occurred, NIH will likely reduce the final FY 2013 funding levels of non-competing continuation grants and expects to make fewer competing awards to allow the agency to meet the available budget allocation.
